Data Gold 28 April, 27 afternoon, under the influence of strong convective clouds, Guangzhou experienced strong tornadoes and hailstones with a diameter of more than 5 centimeters in some areas. Late at night on the 27th, the Guangdong Meteorological Bureau reported four reasons for this extreme weather. First, for a period of time, the southwest warm and humid airflow from the South China Sea has continued to strengthen, delivering a large amount of water vapor and energy to Guangzhou. Guangzhou has been in a state of high temperature and high humidity for a long time, accumulating a large amount of unstable energy near the ground. Second, on the morning of the 27th, the warm and humid airflow in the lower atmosphere continued to increase, and several meteorological observation stations recorded exceptionally high absolute humidity. Third, the low-level jet stream intensified during the day, exacerbating the unstable structure of "cold on top, warm below". Fourth, as triggering conditions, the convergence line of ground-scale and the passage of high-altitude fluctuations triggered strong updrafts, causing the mother storm of the tornado to develop vigorously.
