French police arrest more suspects in the Crypto Assets kidnapping case.
Gate News bot news, French police have arrested more suspects in the case of the kidnapping of a crypto assets entrepreneur’s father, whose finger was previously severed for a ransom.
In 2025, the number of crypto asset kidnapping cases continued to rise, with several occurring in France, prompting crypto asset entrepreneurs to strengthen security measures. France’s Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau also convened a meeting to discuss the matter.
According to sources from France 24 television, the number of arrests on Tuesday is still unclear. Suspects may be detained for up to 96 hours without the need to file charges.
Previously, the father of an unnamed Crypto Assets entrepreneur was held captive in a property for several days, with criminals demanding a ransom of up to 7 million euros (8 million dollars). On May 3, police rescued the man in a raid and arrested five individuals.
Meanwhile, on June 4, a man was arrested in Morocco, suspected of being a key figure in a series of recent kidnapping cases related to Crypto Assets in France. On May 26, French authorities also arrested over 12 suspects linked to the high-profile Crypto Assets kidnapping case in Paris.
