[President of the Eurogroup: The EU plans to track cryptocurrency transfers according to new AML regulations] According to the speech by Eurogroup President Paschal Donohoe, the EU plans to track cryptocurrency transfers. Donohoe stated during the European Anti-Financial Crime Summit 2025 yesterday that the EU is committed to applying long-standing AML regulations to crypto assets. Donohoe is also the Irish Minister for Finance. Specifically, the Eurogroup President explained that the EU seeks to "record the data of fund senders and receivers, which now applies to crypto asset service providers." Donohue stated that the expansion of such AML regulations is "crucial," adding that the EU hopes to "extend such regulations beyond more traditional forms of financial transfers" and achieve "transparency in Crypto Assets transfers."
