The CEO is a Bitcoin opponent, but the company's BTC Holdings surprised: Goldman Sachs revealed how much Bitcoin it has!
The US investment giant Goldman Sachs announced in its latest 13F filing as of March 31 that BlackRock holds 30.8 million shares of its spot Bitcoin ETF IBIT.
The total value of these shares is at the level of 1.4 billion dollars. The company also holds a position worth 250 million dollars with 3.47 million shares in Fidelity's spot Bitcoin ETF, FBTC.
Compared to the previous announcement made in December 2023, Goldman Sachs' IBIT position increased by 6.8 million units. There was no significant change in the FBTC position. This increase occurred during the months of January, February, or March when Bitcoin experienced a price drop.
According to the latest announced 13F data, Goldman Sachs has risen to become the largest shareholder of IBIT.
On the other hand, the $157 million IBIT call (alım opsiyonu), $527 million IBIT put (satım opsiyonu), and $84 million FBTC put positions included in the December 2023 notification were not included in the new notification. This suggests that Goldman Sachs is moving towards a more direct spot ETF investment strategy.
The company's CEO, David Solomon, said about BTC, "Bitcoin is a speculative asset, an interesting speculative asset. Still, I don't think there are many questions to be asked about it."
