⏰ UTC: the schedule that can cost you a fortune in crypto

robot
Abstract generation in progress

A question you don't ask yourself until you lose money: what time is it in your country in UTC?

The launch of that promising token was at 10:00 AM UTC. Sounds like noon, right? Well, no. If you live in Colombia, it was 5:00 AM. If you're in Argentina, it was 7:00 AM. And if you didn't know, you probably bought when it had already risen 400% or simply didn't get in.

Why UTC and not your local time?

Because in crypto everything happens simultaneously all over the world. There is no daylight saving time to complicate things. UTC is the universal clock: it does not change, it does not negotiate, it does not fail.

Mathematics is simple

Your difference with UTC:

  • Colombia, Peru, Ecuador = UTC -5
  • Mexico = UTC -6
  • Venezuela = UTC -4
  • Argentina, Chile = UTC -3
  • Spain = UTC +2 (summer)

Subtract or add those hours to the UTC schedule. Ready.

The real risk

It's not just missing a launch. It's buying when the hype has already exploded, when the whales have already taken their profits. It's selling panicked at 3:00 AM because you confused the time. It's an expensive frustration.

The solution

Google: “[hora] UTC in [your country]” → resolved in 2 seconds. Or use any timezone bot. Before putting money into any crypto event, check your difference with UTC. Once. A single mistake can cost you thousands.
