On April 1, following Trump’s announcement that the U.S. would withdraw from Iran within two to three weeks regardless of whether an agreement is reached, international oil prices fell sharply. WTI crude oil dropped below $98 per barrel, with a daily decline of 3.78%; Brent crude oil fell by 3.3%. Thomas Mathews from Capital Economics stated, “The hope for de-escalation has boosted the market, but we believe that even if the war ends quickly, its effects will persist in many cases.
