Lido, the largest staking protocol on Ethereum, avoided a major security vulnerability after one of the nine Oracle Machine Secret Keys used to provide consensus data to the Lido smart contracts was compromised. The incident only resulted in approximately 1.46 ETH (about $4200) in gas fees being stolen, with no impact on user funds or other parts of the system. Lido has initiated an emergency DAO vote to reallocate the compromised Oracle Machine Secret Key and has generated a new key with better security controls.
