Adam Bates: From Blockchain to Academia
Adam Bates has switched gears. Once a blockchain marketing star, he’s now deep in academia. Word from 2025 shows he’s gone beyond crypto. He teaches at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. System security. Data provenance. That kind of stuff.
His papers get noticed. A lot. Like, over 5,000 citations on Google Scholar. Pretty impressive. He joined the Computer Science Department back in 2016, but that’s not all. Seems he’s also teaching environmental sciences at Nottingham Trent University. Kind of surprising how he bridges these different worlds.
