I’ve seen firsthand how paper documents, siloed systems, slow border clearances, and cross-border payments that take weeks hold Africa back.

𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 $25𝘉 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘨 𝘰𝘯 𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘵𝘩.

ADAPT uses decentralized identifiers and verifiable credentials, integrated with systems like Kenya’s eCitizen and Nigeria’s national ID.
This finally replaces repeated manual verification and endless paperwork.

➢ A shared data environment:
All trade documents including shipments, certificates, invoices, logistics data become verifiable digital records.
With blockchain, IoT tracking, AI compliance checks, and smart contracts, clearance times drop and transparency increases.

➢ An interoperable financial layer:
Banks, mobile money, and stablecoins like USDT plug into the same system, enabling faster settlement and cheaper cross-border payments.

ADAPT is powered by the new Rebased IOTA protocol.

Tokenizing physical assets, commodities, invoices, and other trade-related documents, enables fractional ownership, liquidity, and yield. This means businesses can access cheaper and more flexible financing, while $IOTA value increase via fee burning and network participation.

As volume increases, the network accrues value, attracting more developers, and dApps. The flywheel also strengthens regulatory outlook: as adoption grows, authorities and institutions see tangible, auditable economic activity on-chain, encouraging broader acceptance and integration.

𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐏𝐓 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐩

ADAPT will roll out in phases.

➢ Between 2025 and 2026, pilots will take place in countries including Kenya and Ghana. After that, the system will expand to other African states while regulatory, legal, and governance frameworks are established.

➢ Between 2027 and 2035, the initiative will scale across the entire continent.

➢ At full scale, ADAPT could double intra-African trade by 2035, unlock more than $70 billion a year in new trade flows, generate over $23 billion in economic gains from faster and cheaper processes, reduce border clearance times from two weeks to under three days.
