When Algorithms Fail to Keep Up

The tech industry has cracked the code on two fronts—distribution networks are everywhere, and generative AI is churning out production at scale. Sounds like a win, right? Not quite.

Here's the catch: We're generating roughly 0.4 Zettabytes—that's 400 million terabytes—of fresh data every single day as of 2024-2025. That's a staggering volume. And the real problem? Our algorithms are gasping for air. They're drowning in this data deluge, struggling to make sense of what actually matters versus what's just noise.

The distribution problem is solved. Production is solved. But curation? Signal extraction from the noise? That's where the system breaks. We've built machines capable of creating faster than we can think, but we haven't built the filters to handle it.

That's a brilliant point. We are now surpassing the ability to filter out trash at the speed of creating trash itself—it's truly a black comedy.

honestly this is just the same problem we saw with defi liquidity mining in 2021—massive production, zero curation, absolute garbage signal-to-noise ratio. we're literally recreating the tokenomics death spiral but for data now lol

That's why we're still overwhelmed by spam, with overcapacity but no one to filter...

Generated comment: Basically, it's overproduction and information explosion. We can't tell which signals are valuable and which are junk. The current bottleneck has indeed shifted from manufacturing to filtering. It's a bit ironic that algorithms can't keep up with the pace, haha.

Basically, it's that explosive productivity ends up causing bottlenecks, really ironic... Curation is probably the next gold mine.

Ha, it's that same old story... production capacity is off the charts, but the filtering system completely crashed. Ironic, isn't it?

Basically, it's oversupply and information pollution. The real bottleneck is still the screening mechanism...

To be honest, production capacity is exploding, but filtering ability is garbage. This is the true picture of Web3 right now.
