just updated my sassa details for the r350 grant and honestly it was way simpler than i thought. if you're trying to change your bank details, here's what actually worked for me.

so the thing is, the r350 (social relief of distress) is all online now, which is actually pretty cool. you don't have to go to an office or anything. i just went to the sassa srd portal, entered my id number, and they sent me a link via sms. clicked the link, put in my new bank account info, and done. took like 5 minutes.

but heads up - the account has to be in YOUR name exactly as it shows on your id. they won't pay into joint accounts or anything like that. also make sure whatever phone number you're using for the sms is registered in your name (rica compliant) if you're doing the cash send option.

the verification takes a few days to a couple weeks, so don't panic if you don't see it immediately. just make sure you change my bank details for r350 before you actually need the money lol. one more thing - there are fake websites out there claiming to help with this, so always use the official sassa link. not worth the risk.
