Iran Rejects Ceasefire, Presents 10 Demands to the United States

The Iranian government officially rejected the temporary ceasefire proposal and has formulated a response to the United States’ (AS) demands to end the war. Through a report from Reuters and the IRNA news agency on Monday (06/04), Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it had submitted 10 points of demands as a response to the United States’ 15-point plan. This rejection of the ceasefire was conveyed to the United States by Iran through Pakistan’s government intermediaries.
The 10-point proposal includes demands to halt the conflict across the entire region, as well as special protocols for safe navigation routes in the Strait of Hormuz. Although the full details have not yet been released, a senior U.S. official described Iran’s response as extremely maximalist or overly demanding. This further intensifies uncertainty about whether diplomatic efforts will succeed amid steadily escalating tensions between the two countries.
The U.S. has not been able to confirm whether this document will make progress toward a peaceful solution or instead worsen the deadlock. Iran’s statement saying it will announce the details of its response when needed adds to uncertainty in the situation, especially following threats of attacks on infrastructure on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, previously issued by Donald Trump
