Animoca Brands collaborates with Ibex Japan ( belonging to Antler) to launch a Web3 investment fund aimed at bringing intellectual property (IP) of Japanese anime and manga to the blockchain. At the WebX Tokyo conference, Animoca co-founder Yat Siu stated that the goal is to expand Japanese IP globally, not only in gaming but also in fintech, healthcare, and medical technology.

According to partner Ibex Japan, Sandeep Casi, 90-99% of Japanese IP is being "overlooked" despite its high value. With a global network of 22 cities, 1.2 billion USD in assets under management, and 250,000 entrepreneurs, Antler hopes the project can scale internationally.

The fund will be co-managed by Casi and Keyvan Peymani, focusing on licensing untapped IPs and supporting the development of new Web3 products. Siu emphasized the favorable timing due to the recovery of NFTs, with the market capitalization reaching 9.3 billion USD in mid-August, an increase of 40% compared to July.
