Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, has just made history by becoming the first person to have a net worth reach nearly 500 billion USD, according to Forbes' billionaire index. As of 4:15 PM E.T. on Wednesday, his wealth stood at 500.1 billion USD.

This enormous asset is primarily associated with Tesla, where Musk holds over 12.4% of the shares. Tesla's stock has risen more than 14% since the beginning of the year and increased another 3.3% on the day, adding over 6 billion USD to Musk's net worth. He also just purchased about 1 billion USD worth of Tesla shares, demonstrating his confidence in the company's future as it heads towards AI and robotics.

In addition to Tesla, Musk's other companies have also seen a strong increase in valuation: xAI is valued at around 75 billion USD ( and may target 200 billion USD ), while SpaceX is discussed with a valuation of around 400 billion USD.
