Interior Minister Announced: Istanbul-Centered 30 Billion Lira Crypto Operation! 18 People Arrested!

Minister of the Interior Ali Yerlikaya shared that an operation was carried out against social media crypto scammers in a post from account X.

It was also reported that the 30 billion lira cryptocurrency wallet of the individuals who set up a happiness chain and defrauded citizens was seized.

Yerlikaya said that 21 people were captured in the operation named ‘SIBERAG-15’. 18 of them were arrested while 3 were released on judicial control measure.

It was stated that 752 bank/crypto accounts were seized as a result of the operation.

In the ‘SİBERAĞ-15’ operations carried out by the Gendarmerie for Qualified Fraud and Money Laundering crimes in 9 provinces,

Between 2017-2024, it was determined that 30 billion 478 million 473 thousand TL transaction volume was found in their accounts through the prosperity chain method (money in/out), and 21 suspects were caught.

As a result of the operations, 752 bank/crypto accounts were seized.

Investigations have been initiated by our Prosecutors against those who advertise watch ads for high profits on social media platforms and make unfair profits by defrauding many of our citizens through the Ponzi scheme method.
