Jin10 reported on September 5 that on September 4 local time, a lawsuit was filed in Washington D.C. regarding the Trump administration's deployment of the National Guard in Washington. The lawsuit was initiated by D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine. Racine stated in a press release that the deployment of the National Guard for law enforcement was "unnecessary and unwelcome," and posed a "dangerous and harmful" threat to city residents. Racine indicated that the lawsuit was to terminate this illegal federal overreach. Earlier in August, Trump announced a series of measures including the deployment of the National Guard to Washington D.C., federal takeover of the D.C. police department, and a local state of emergency.
