Users accused Grok of "consultations" with Musk

Observations suggest that Grok 4 has been specifically tuned to take into account the political views of the head of xAI when responding to controversial questions.

Earlier, the billionaire stated that his startup would rewrite "all human knowledge" to train a new version of the chatbot, as today there is "too much junk in any base model trained on uncurated data." AI expert Gary Marcus compared Musk's plan to a dystopia.

Later, Grok became more categorical and began to make controversial and contradictory statements. xAI noted that it is working on removing inappropriate posts.

TechCrunch asked Grok 4 for its opinion on immigration in the US and found that the chatbot, during its chain of thought, "sought Elon Musk's views" on the subject.

In its responses, the chatbot strives to provide a balanced position, offering several perspectives on delicate topics. However, ultimately, it expresses its own opinion, which aligns with Musk's position.
