In 2025, losses from cryptocurrency crimes in Asia will exceed $1.5 billion, with new channels for Money Laundering in Southeast Asia attracting follow.

According to reports, AMLBot CEO Slava Demchuk pointed out that in the first half of 2025, the losses from crypto-related crimes in the Asia region have exceeded $1.5 billion, surpassing the total for the entire year of 2024. Analysis shows that unauthorized OTC Trading counters and mobile payment channels in Southeast Asia have become new tools for Money Laundering.

The report suggests that blockchain analysis companies need to establish regional risk databases and collaborate with local law enforcement agencies. Countries such as Thailand and Malaysia have achieved a reduction in the time required for fund freezing from several months to just a few hours through public-private partnership models.
