[SEC Regulatory Agency: Gensler's mobile data was deleted, records related to encryption enforcement actions and transparency were included] The Office of Inspector General of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission reported on Wednesday that the SEC's IT department "implemented a confusing automated policy that resulted in the erasure of data on mobile devices issued by the Gensler administration," deleting stored text messages and operating system logs. The Inspector General's office found that some texts deleted by Gensler involve SEC enforcement actions against cryptocurrency companies and their founders, which means that key communications about how and when the SEC pursues cases may never be fully known, not even to the courts, Congress, or the public.
