Bifrost Monthly Report | August 2025: Driving Innovation and Community Growth in Web3

As we step into the final quarter of 2025, Bifrost continues to push the boundaries of decentralized finance and cross-chain interoperability. Our August report highlights major technical upgrades, product milestones, and vibrant community activities that collectively strengthen our ecosystem and empower users worldwide.

Technical Upgrades: Runtime 21000 and Beyond

This month, we successfully upgraded to Runtime 21000, bringing several key improvements:

• Enhanced Polkadot Dependencies: Ensuring tighter integration and compatibility with the Polkadot network.
• Optimized vToken Exchange Rate Management: Improved handling of exchange rates to support bbBNC compatibility.
• Advanced Token Validation for vETH: Strengthened logic for minting and redeeming vETH tokens.
• Improved Token Pool Management: More efficient management of token pools related to vETH.
• Optimized vTokenVoting Delegation Unlock: Streamlined unlocking processes for delegated voting tokens.

Additionally, SLPx 1.0 now supports charging cross-chain fees through Hyperbridge, enhancing the efficiency of cross-chain requests.

Product Progress: Expanding Liquidity and User Experience

Our Dapp 1.9.5 release introduced support for vTokenVoting delegation directly within the app UI, making governance participation more accessible.

Bifrost’s Total Value Locked (TVL) reached nearly $99.1 million, with vDOT leading the charge. The total minted supply of vDOT surpassed 20 million, and its TVL exceeded $77 million — a 5% growth month-over-month.

On the cross-chain front, Hyperbridge successfully deployed DOT/ETH liquidity pools on Ethereum mainnet and multiple Layer 2 networks. Users can now seamlessly swap DOT on Uniswap and bridge assets to Bifrost to mint vDOT.

While vFIL has been sunsetted on Bifrost, users can still request redemption through a governance-backed cross-chain execution process, ensuring a secure exit path.

Moreover, Bifrost is now listed on Astar Dapp Staking, with the Omni Liquid Staking module supporting vASTR minting across Astar, Soneium, and multiple L2 ecosystems. DeFi Singularity also rolled out a new “Zap-in” feature, enabling users to add liquidity with a single click — no manual token swapping or balancing required.

Marketing & Community: Building Together Across Borders

Community engagement remains at the heart of Bifrost’s mission. In August, we co-hosted the Saigon Web3 Builders Meetup in Vietnam, bringing together developers, founders, and DeFi innovators for collaboration and insightful discussions.

Our Creator Incentive Program relaunched with a focus on rewarding originality and meaningful engagement. Content creators producing high-quality work can earn up to 5,000 BNC, moving beyond opaque algorithms to foster genuine community contributions.

Ahead of WebX 2025, Bifrost co-hosted a welcome meetup in Tokyo, connecting with Japanese ecosystem partners, investors, and media, highlighting the global reach and diversity of the Web3 community.

To build momentum for our new tokenomics, we launched bbBNC Boost Week, a week-long campaign featuring five interactive events. Participants completed tasks, earned WAVE points, and won $BNC rewards, setting the stage for the full rollout.
