Grid Bot on LDO: You earn while you sleep or lose, it depends.

Automated trading sounds sexy, but the reality is harsher: you need the right parameters or you’ll get liquidated in 5 minutes.

The setup we tested

We took LDO/USDT with a futures grid bot at 33x leverage. Yes, 33x. Operating range: 0.9562 - 1.1517 USDT over 7 days, divided into 32 levels.

Capital: $100 leveraged. Enough to see if the bot worked without risking everything.

Why it almost worked (o@

  1. Wide range = fewer liquidations: A ±10% range absorbs volatility without hitting stop-losses.
  2. Dense grids = efficiency: 32 levels mean small, frequent buys/sells.
  3. Sideways market = happy bot: Grid bots hate strong trends; they love orderly chaos.

What we didn’t do )y and why (

  • No stop-loss: We trusted the wide range, but it’s risky.
  • No trailing stop: Simpler, fewer variables to break.
  • No auto-close: We let the bot breathe.

The uncomfortable truth

This isn’t free money. The bot can:

  • Burn your margin if the price moves out of range.
  • Betray you if a gap jumps overnight.
  • Generate modest but consistent gains in calm markets.

Golden rule: 80% of success is the initial setup. The remaining 20% is luck and not checking every 5 minutes.

LDO is currently +6.03% from 0.7624. The bot captured much of that move, but this was an educational example, not a guarantee of profit.
