🐂🐻 Bulls and bears: why traders talk about animals when they should talk about money

robot
Abstract generation in progress

You enter Twitter, read a Discord chat, or ask when to enter the market… and someone says “it's very bullish” or “watch out, the bear market is still strong.”

And you: what does a bull have to do with Bitcoin? 😅

The short story (and funny)

The Bull (Bull) = Bull Market 📈

  • A bull attacks by thrusting its horns UPWARD
  • Prices rise = bullish situation
  • Traders buy expecting profits

The Bear (Bear) = Bear Market 📉

  • A bear attacks by bringing its claws DOWN
  • Prices fall = bearish situation
  • Traders sell or wait for better prices

And why not simply say “up” or “down”?

This term comes from the 18th century in European financial markets. Traders needed a quick, memorable, and universal way to communicate with each other. Animal metaphors caught on so strongly that 300 years later… here we are. 🤷

The reality of trading today

  • Bull market: FOMO kicks in, everyone wants to buy, the news is positive
  • Bear market: panic dominates, sales accumulate, it is the moment that some take advantage of to accumulate

Fact: Identifying trend changes between bull and bear markets is the most valuable skill in crypto. It's not magic, it's practice + on-chain data analysis.

What market are we in now? That is the golden question. 👀
