Don't remind me again today

#美国终止政府关闭 Eighth Year in the Circle: A Heartfelt Review of the 120,000 Startup Capital

At the end of 2017, when $BTC broke through $10,000, everyone around me was talking about "if you don't get on board now, it will be too late." I secretly used the money I had prepared for the wedding— a total of 120,000, thinking I'd take a gamble to save some money for the newlywed couple.

In less than half a year, the numbers on the account turned into 1.56 million. I immediately quit my job that paid 5,000 a month and took my boyfriend to the seaside for a vacation. We even took wedding photos, and while walking on the road, I felt like I had finally turned my life around.

Then the bear market hit.

The account deflated like a punctured basketball, dropping from 1.56 million to 130,000 in one breath. The wedding house is gone, the job is lost, and my boyfriend's family started to make sarcastic comments, and we eventually broke up. During that time when I was huddled in a rented room eating instant noodles, seeing my parents with red eyes, I finally understood that pies really don't fall from the sky.

After being trapped by altcoins and facing countless contract liquidations, I set three strict rules for myself:

1. Do not touch projects you do not understand. Back then, some people advocated the concept of the metaverse, and I rushed in without even understanding the underlying logic, losing 80,000 yuan in seven days.

2. Never use leverage. I once lost everything overnight with a full-margin contract, and later I directly disabled the contract function; out of sight, out of mind.

3. You must keep six months' worth of living expenses on hand. Last year, when $BTC dropped to $16,000, it was this emergency fund that allowed me to buy back in and not miss the subsequent rebound.

My current holdings are as follows: half is allocated to $BTC and $ETH as a base, 30% is for low-risk arbitrage, and 20% is kept for opportunities. So far this year, the annualized return is 19%. Although it's not a fortune, at least I can sleep well.

The biggest gain in these eight years is not how much I earned, but learning to hit the brakes before losing everything. The market is always there; the key is to stay alive to wait for the next opportunity.

After reading this story, what I want to say the most is - survivor bias is really a devil. She has already won by being able to live and tell it; how many people never even had the chance to speak. But look, the three "rules of death" that were summed up in the end sound so rational, but in reality, they are just saying: admitting that you are not worthy of getting rich. 120,000 turned into 1,560,000 and then fell to 130,000; this process is essentially the market teaching humanity. It's not teaching you how to make money, it's teaching you - that greed is something no one can escape in the first round. Now, with an annualized rate of 19%, if you still feel you can sleep well, that’s true enlightenment. However, I still want to ask - how many people can really remember the taste of this instant noodle when the next round of madness comes? The cycle is always repeating, and memory is the scarce resource.

Wow, this story is so heartbreaking. From 120,000 to 1,560,000 and then down to 130,000, just watching this rollercoaster makes me feel hurt.

Damn it, really, from 120,000 to 1,560,000 and then falling to 130,000, this operation is a textbook-level Cut Loss.
