Ethereum's scaling plan is accelerating. The Glamsterdam fork upgrade scheduled for 2026 will fundamentally reshape the performance level of this blockchain.
First is the release of computing power. The Gas limit will soar from the current 60 million to 200 million, meaning the transaction processing capacity per unit time will increase several times. At the same time, parallel processing capabilities will be introduced, and the network is expected to reach thousands of TPS.
Second is the complete transformation of the validation mechanism. Validators will no longer execute transactions repeatedly but will instead verify zero-knowledge proofs. This transition not only significantly reduces validation costs but also frees up valuable computational resources on the mainnet.
Interoperability of Layer2 solutions is also being upgraded. The data block limit will be increased to over 72, and with the new interoperability layer design, Layer2 solutions can achieve truly seamless cross-chain interactions. Coupled with improved privacy protection mechanisms, the fragmentation of liquidity within the ecosystem is expected to be fundamentally alleviated. This upgrade will be a key milestone in the development history of the Ethereum ecosystem.
