At the Future Investment Initiative (FII) event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, leaders in the cryptocurrency industry such as Brad Garlinghouse (Ripple), Jeremy Allaire (Circle), and Saifedean Ammous discussed the future of the industry. Garlinghouse was optimistic, believing that the next 16 years will outperform the past 16 years as cryptocurrencies move away from speculation towards real-world applications in finance and technology. He emphasized that projects like Circle are demonstrating the real value of stablecoins, paving the way for widespread adoption. Ammous likened Bitcoin to “digital gold” – a version better suited to the modern economy due to its ability to transfer money quickly, cross-border, without the need for a banking intermediary. He believes Bitcoin will continue to surpass gold in value as the global economy increasingly relies on the speed and decentralization of cryptocurrencies.
