On May 13, U.S. President Trump will visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates from May 13 to 16. On the eve of Trump's departure, sources revealed that the U.S. government is considering a deal to provide hundreds of thousands of U.S.-designed AI chips to Emirati artificial intelligence company G42. People familiar with the matter told U.S. media that the Trump administration has agreed to reach a deal for artificial intelligence chips directly with Middle Eastern officials in order to strengthen relations with the Middle East. David Sachs, the White House head of artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency, is in talks with G42 and Emirati officials to push for a deal that would allow the company to acquire U.S. chips under limited supervision, some of which will be used in G42's partnership with U.S. company OpenAI, while the rest will be provided directly to G42.
