Trump's portrait on a dollar commemorative coin? The Democratic Party is in an uproar: it also involves Trump coin.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury has recently announced that it is preparing to issue a “Trump One Dollar Commemorative Coin” to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States next year. However, the design not only features the portrait of the current president Trump, but the reverse design also seems to be related to the Trump Coin (TRUMP) that he himself launched, sparking strong Rebound from the Democrats.

The concept diagram of the National Founding Commemorative coin has been released, and it surprisingly features the words Fight, Fight, Fight.

Brandon Beach, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, confirmed earlier this month on Twitter (X) that the Treasury is preparing to issue a commemorative coin, scheduled to launch next year, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

According to the public design, the commemorative coin features Trump's portrait on the front, while the back depicts him standing under the American flag with his fist raised, alongside the words “Fight, Fight, Fight.”

(Note: The Treasurer of the United States is an official under the Secretary of the Treasury, belonging to a politically appointed position, requiring appointment by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate. This position typically involves responsibilities related to currency, minting, and financial inclusion policies. )

The slogan of the commemorative coin shares the same name as the Trump coin, leading to a major Rebound from Democratic Party members.

The phrase “Fight, Fight, Fight” is not chosen at random, but is the wording on the TRU coin “TRUMP” that Trump personally introduced a few days before his second inauguration earlier this year.

The slogan is also related to Trump's political campaign slogan, and the media has pointed out a connection to last year's attempted assassination of Trump. This has led to questions about whether this commemorative coin from the Treasury indirectly helps promote Trump's personal brand.

Subsequently, at the Senate Banking Committee hearing on 10/31, Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen directly questioned the nominee for the Director of the Mint, Paul Hollis, asking him to explain this design. Van Hollen stated:

“It is illegal to place the portrait of the current president on official currency. What is even more outrageous is that it is actually related to the meme coin that Trump himself profits from, which is a clear conflict of interest.”

Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Masto present at the event also expressed concern about this.

The nominee for the Mint Director stated that they would act in accordance with the law, but did not provide specific details.

In response to the doubts, the nominee for the director of the Mint, Hollis, only replied briefly:

“I will act in accordance with the law one hundred percent.”

But he did not directly respond to whether he would suspend the design and issuance of the commemorative coin. The Trump coin was issued in January of this year, and at the beginning of its issuance, the price once soared to a maximum of 44.28 USD, but now it is only 7.82 USD, a drop of over 80%.
