Meta Pool worth $27 million in tokens was attacked, and the attacker escaped with only $132,000.

Gate News bot message, CoinTelegraph reports that a Hacker successfully stole approximately $132,000 by attacking the encryption protocol Meta Pool, which could originally have stolen tokens worth $27 million. Due to insufficient Liquidity and the paused smart contracts that were exploited, the attack was ultimately thwarted.

Meta Pool said in a blog post on Tuesday that the attackers were able to mint 9,705 liquid stake protocol tokens, mpETH, worth nearly $27 million, but only stole about 52.5 ether (ETH) from liquidity swap pools, worth just over $132,000.

The company added that some affected mining pools had low liquidity and trading volume, making attacks more difficult to execute, and its “early detection system” helped its team quickly suspend the affected contracts to prevent “further unauthorized activities or additional losses.”
