Yonhap News Agency: Samsung Electronics plans to increase bonuses for chip division employees
On July 4, Jinshi Data reported that Samsung Electronics will pay its semiconductor division employees a bonus equivalent to a maximum of 75% of their basic salary in the first half of 2024, according to an internal notice cited by the Korea News Agency. Due to weak profits, the bonus was cut in half in the second half of 2022. Employees of the foundry business unit and the system LSI business unit will receive 37.5% of their monthly salary as a bonus, while employees of the storage chip and semiconductor research center will receive 75%. This bonus will be paid on July 8, when the union will launch a three-day strike.
