Yemeni government forces said on the 15th that Houthi militants attacked government forces in the southern provinces of Dali’a and Lahj, causing at least 15 casualties. A Yemeni government military officer said that Houthi militants launched artillery and rocket attacks on a government military position in the northwest of Dali’a province in the early hours of the 15th, resulting in the deaths of 3 people, including the commander of the position, Mohammed Hamidi, and 5 others injured. Another Yemeni government military officer said that on the night of the 14th, Houthi militants engaged in intense clashes with government forces while trying to control strategic positions in the mountainous area on the border of Lahj and Taiz provinces, resulting in the deaths of 2 government soldiers and 5 others injured. The officer said that the Houthi militants’ attack lasted for several hours and heavy weapons were used.
