Trump's lawyer appealed his "hush money" case to postpone the verdict

Golden Finance reported that US President-elect Trump’s lawyer has appealed the judgment of his ‘hush money’ criminal case and applied to the judge for a postponement of the sentencing procedure scheduled for this week. Trump’s lawyer believes that the sentencing must be postponed during the appeal period. The team has requested a response from New York Judge Juan Mercan before 2 p.m. Eastern Time on January 6. On January 3, local time, New York Judge Juan Mercan ruled to uphold Trump’s conviction in the ‘hush money’ case, rejecting Trump’s request to overturn the jury’s verdict, and set the sentencing date for January 10. Trump’s lawyer previously stated that they would appeal any attempt to sentence him before the presidential inauguration on January 20.
