BlockBeats News, January 5th, according to TheBlock, Bitcoin Core development activity significantly increased in 2025, reversing a multi-year downward trend. Casa Chief Security Officer Jameson Lopp released annual data showing that Bitcoin Core mailing list traffic grew by 60% year-over-year, with 135 independent code contributors involved in development, and approximately 285,000 lines of code changed. This reversed a continuous decline since 2018, when the number of contributors peaked at around 193.
