The new law will continue to provide operating funds for the U.S. government until March next year, thereby avoiding a 'shutdown' of some federal agencies after 12:00 a.m. on the 21st Eastern Time. The next step of the bill will be voted on by the Senate, and if passed, it will be submitted to President Biden for signature to take effect formally.
